Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA):

Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) is the oldest and prime organization of the sports writers and journalists in Bangladesh. BSPA was founded in 1962 as East Pakistan Sports Press Association. During its formation, the association’s President was Atiquzzaman Khan, a renowned athlete and sports journalist, and General Secretary was famous sports journalist Sheikh Abdul Mannan, mostly known as Ladu Bhai.

After emergence of Bangladesh, the association was renamed Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) on July 5, 1972. Since 1974, it has been giving awards to the best sportsmen, journalists and writers of the country. It also arranges seminars, symposiums, discussions, etc regarding various problems and findings of the problems regarding various sports related issues of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) obtained membership from International Sports Press Association (AIPS) on May 7, 1993. BSPA always contributes on professional development and responsibilities of the sports writers and journalists. Today, the association has become an umbrella of the sports writers and journalists to share idea, feeling, thinking, discussion, etc. BSPA’s office is situated at Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) president is Md. Hasanullah Khan Rana, sports editor of Jamuna TV.
