The Voice of America (VOA) is the largest U.S. international multimedia broadcaster, founded in 1942. VOA is broadcasting various programmes through radio, TV, internet, mobile etc in 45 different languages. Voice of America is funded by the U.S. Government through Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG).
Since July 1954, Voice of America has been broadcasting programmes in Bangla language. Though, at the very outset, it broadcasted programmes as an experimental basis; VOA Bangla’s regular broadcasting started from 1st January 1958 from Washington, DC. Voice of America, Bangla (VOA Bangla) provides programmes like news, education, information, cultural programme, English learning, news analysis, interview of famous person, health & science programme, sports news, and entertainment news through radio, television, internet, and mobile. VOA Bangla is a popular news media for the Bangla-speaking people all over the world.
In VOA Radio, it broadcast weekly programme Call-in Show, Hello Washington where renowned Panelists gives answer of different current and important questions of the audiences. VOA Bangla also broadcasts some other programmes on NTV (Hello America), ATN (Live America) and Desh TV (VOA 60, and Lets Play Politics). VOA Bangla website includes U.S. news, international news, Asian news, Kolkata news, Bangladesh news and recorded videos of various programmes.
